Philodendron longistilum

Stem scandent, slender, internodes elongate, 6-10 cm long, 8-10 mm thick, aerial roots at the nodes, emitting very long one occasionally. LEAVES: Petiole short, slender, slightly canaliculate on upper surface, 2-3.5 cm long, with a short subacute sheath at the base; Blade thinly coriaceous, lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, apex thinly cuspidate-acuminate, narrowing gradually towards the base, 12-19 cm long, 3.5-6 cm wide; primary lateral veins numerous, spreading from the midrib at an obtuse angle, ascending arcuately near the margin, barely thicker than secondary and tertiary veins, INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle short, slender, terete, 1.2-1.8 cm long, 5-6 mm thick. Spathe 4-5 cm long, almost 1 cm thick in the lower part, tube barely distinct from the blade, whitish green, oblong, apex shortly apiculate. Spadix shortly stipitate; female zone narrowly conoid, ca. 2 cm long, 5 mm thick in the lower part, attenuating upwards; sterile male zone short, barely 5 mm long; fertile zone cylindroid, often somewhat curved, obtuse, 2.5-2.8 cm long, 3-4 mm wide. Pistil broadly ovoid, truncate, 1.5 mm long and almost unequally sided; style long, abruptly slender, curved upwards, with the lower part somewhat thickened; stigma broad, excavated, very slightly multi-lobed; ovary 4-6-locular, locules uniovulate. Male flowers usually 2-3-androus.
